Your E-Bike for the Camino: What You Need to Know

  • Included in Your Camino Package: E-bikes are available exclusively as part of a Camino tour package and cannot be rented separately. E-bikes are exclusively available for individuals who are 161 cm (5'28'') or taller.
  • Pedal Assist, Not a Scooter: The motor provides assistance only while you pedal. You will still need to cycle, but with significantly less strain, especially on climbs and longer stages.
  • Height Requirements: E-bikes are suitable for cyclists between 1.47m and 2m tall. Different frame sizes are available. Please provide your accurate height when booking. If you are close to either limit, we recommend trying a similar-sized bike locally beforehand.
  • Minimum Rental Period: The minimum rental period is 5 days. For Camino de Santiago routes, e-bikes are only available on itineraries that finish in Santiago de Compostela, where the bike must be returned to the designated bike shop.
  • Battery Range and Charging: The battery can last up to 130 km in Eco mode, although the actual range will vary depending on terrain, rider weight, weather conditions, and assistance level. To ensure maximum performance, charge the battery fully each night. If the battery runs out during the day, you can continue cycling without assistance; however, please note that e-bikes weigh approximately 25 kg and can be more challenging to pedal without power.
  • Assembly and Adjustments: Your e-bike will arrive almost fully assembled. You will only need to attach the pedals and make minor adjustments to the saddle and handlebars. All necessary tools and instructions are included.
  • Helmet and Panniers Included: Your rental includes: Helmet, Two waterproof pannier bags (20L each), repair kit.  If you prefer to use your own helmet, simply let us know before your trip.
  • Cycling Experience Recommended: E-bikes are easy to use, but some basic cycling experience is recommended. If you have never ridden an e-bike before, we suggest trying one before your Camino.
  • 24/7 Support: A dedicated 24/7 assistance number will be available throughout your trip. If required, emergency support includes arranging transport to a local repair shop.

E-bikes offer the perfect balance of freedom, comfort, and support, making your Camino both enjoyable and rewarding. With a little planning, regular overnight charging, and consideration for fellow pilgrims along the way, you'll be ready to make the most of your journey.
